Rising 2Ls, 3Ls, and 4Ls
You have unlimited access to your Bloomberg Law and Lexis accounts to do research over the summer, whether for a paid position, a paper, a professor, a co-curricular, an externship, or a non-profit. Check with your employer on their policy first. Docket limits for Bloomberg Law apply as during the school year. Contact Iantha Haight with questions about docket usage.
Westlaw does not allow use for paid client work. You may use Westlaw when doing work for a non-profit, an externship, a co-curricular, a professor, or to read background information on a legal topic that you will be involved with during your paid position.
You continue to have remote access to library databases like HeinOnline, Cheetah, AILALink, the Making of Modern Law, ProQuest Legislative and Congressional Insight, LexisNexis Digital Library, and Almanac of the Federal Judiciary. Contact Iantha Haight with questions about databases. You are welcome to contact the reference desk during the summer for help with research and accessing materials.
Graduating Students
Bloomberg Law: Unlimited access for six months following graduation.
Westlaw: Six months of limited access after graduation. You must register for “Grad Elite” status by logging in at lawschool.tr.com and select “Grad Elite Status” from the drop-down menu by your name in the upper-right corner. Just like with summer access, you may NOT use Westlaw to do research for a client— only for personal learning. Access is limited to 60 hours per month.
Lexis: Unlimited access through December 31, 2021. You must redeem your student rewards points by June 30, 2021. After July 9, 2021, when you sign on to Lexis you will see the Graduate Homepage where you can select a gift from Lexis (Law360, Intelligize, Lexis for Microsoft Office, Lexis+ Practice Guidance, or a LexisNexis e-book).
Other Library Databases: Access is available until August 31, 2021.
Graduates, stay tuned for a new webpage launching soon describing library services for grads.
