Just in time for Black History Month, the Law Library has created a new collection in the LexisNexis Digital Library to support BYU Law School’s efforts to promote diversity, equity and belonging. We know law students are busy, so we purchased as many audiobooks as possible so you can listen while exercising, commuting, etc. Some books are only available in e-book format right now. You can listen to the audiobooks in your browser while logged into the LexisNexis Digital Library or using the app.

The books in the collection were recommended by Barbara Melendez, BYU Law School’s Director of Diversity, Equity & Belonging, during orientation last fall. The collection also includes other diversity and justice titles popular in law schools across the United States. Some examples of the titles we have are:
- Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents (2020) by Isabel Wilkerson, a #1 New York Times Bestseller and Oprah’s Book Club pick
- Between the World and Me (2015) by Ta-Nehisi Coates, #1 New York Times Bestseller and National Book Award Winner
- Religion of a Different Color: Race and the Mormon Struggle for Whiteness by W. Paul Reeve
- The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander
