Many students are getting into the thick of writing research papers about this time of year.  If you’re looking for a way to organize your research, you may want to consider Zotero.  Zotero is a free tool that allows you to collect and organize the sources you’ll need to cite in your paper.  You can add notes and tags to the article citations you collect so you have your research all in one place on your computer.  Zotero also has an add-on that produces Bluebook citations out of the information you’ve collected.

When Zotero first started, it was only available as a Firefox add-on.  It has recently released a stand-alone version that can be connected to Chrome and Safari.  I imagine this will expand its pool of users even further.

I use Zotero for my research and have loved it.  In addition to easily collecting article and book citation information, you can also capture web screenshots that may be useful to your research.  It certainly helps speed up my research and keeps me organized.
