Last year I blogged about a digitization project by the Utah State Archives involving historical Utah House of Representatives working bills. At the time the project was just getting started, but I am happy to say that it is now complete. This collection contains House working bills from 1896-1989. Bills from 1990 to the present can be found on the Utah Legislature’s website. Historical Senate working bills have not yet been digitized.
Examining the various iterations of a bill as it goes through the legislative process is an important step in researching legislative history. The ability to access these bills online is a boon to Utah legislative history researchers, who previously had to trek to the State Archives to find them.
Thank you to the Utah State Archives for their work on this project!
