State legislative history can be a beast, especially when you have to go beyond the 1990s. Luckily, the Utah State Archives is working to make things a bit easier for Utah legislative history researchers. The Archives is digitizing Utah Senate Working Bill Files and making them available on their website. When complete, the collection will provide these bill files from 1896-1989, with 1990 to the present already available on the Utah State Legislature’s website. Currently the collection spans 1896-1927 with more years added as the digitization process is complete. The Senate collection complements the House of Representatives’ Working Bill Files collection (1896-1989) that was completed in 2008.
