Today is Constitution Day–a day in which we celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution by members of the Constitutional Convention on September 17, 1787. If you were near Mount Vernon you could go take a look at George Washington’s personal copy of the Constitution which is now on display. While we don’t have anything like that here, we do have many resources about the Constitution and its interpretation that can be useful to you here in law school. One of our law librarians, Galen Fletcher, has authored a subject guide dealing with Constitutional Legal History with some great resources we have access to here at BYU. BYU will also celebrate Constitution Day with a Forum address tomorrow by Judge Thomas B. Griffith of the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit titled “The Hard Work of Understanding the Constitution.”
