You may need to research court documents for an RA project or for a paper or externship. Court documents are any documents that are filed in case proceedings, sometimes by the attorneys, other times they are documents filed by the judge. All documents for a case proceeding are listed in a court docket for that case. Use this screencast to see how you can research court documents–mainly federal–for free through Bloomberg Law. (This screencast also shows you how to get a Bloomberg Law account if you are a BYU Law student.) PACER is also briefly addressed, as are state court documents that are available on Bloomberg. Reach out to a BYU Law librarian if you have any questions!
