CasemakerX is a social networking tool meant to connect law students and legal professionals. (Read more about it here.) In addition, students who register for CasemakerX get access to Casemaker 2.1. Casemaker 2.1 is a low-cost legal research system that members of the Utah State Bar get access to with their bar membership. I would highly encourage law students to become familiar with Casemaker 2.1. Using it can be a great preliminary research tool before hopping on to Westlaw or Lexis. (see this post for more details) Casemaker is a benefit offered through many state bar associations, so you’ll probably want to be familiar with it even if you’re not staying in Utah.
