A few weeks ago I was doing some legislative history research in the 1868 Congressional Globe – the precursor to today’s Congressional Record – and ran across this little exchange, which I found amusing. I guess several members felt like I do when I have to work late.
Of course it’s difficult to tell exactly what the several members are “oh, noing” about, but I like to think there were some Tuesday evening plans that couldn’t be interfered with.
The Congressional Globe (1833-1873) as well as the Congressional Record are available electronically to BYU Law patrons through HeinOnline. I’m sure you remember this from first year legal research, but both of these publications contain the debate from the floors of the United States House and Senate.
