Because much of law school revolves around case law due to the Socratic Method, I find that many law students underestimate the importance of statutes in legal research.  Statutory research is critical in the practice of law and students need to understand that reality.  To help I recently wrote a column for the ABA’s Student Lawyer magazine called Don’t Underestimate the Importance of Statutes.  It’s brief and I hope somewhat informative.  Not to mention that I even try to squeeze some entertainment out of legal research, which can be a daunting task.  You can let me know if I’ve succeeded.
