Students often ask about their access to legal research tools over the summer. Lexis Advance and Bloomberg Law allow students unlimited access to their research systems over the summer. Westlaw is a little more restrictive. Students are required to sign-up to extend their Westlaw passwords and students can only use passwords for academic purposes. Unpaid internship/externship use is allowed so long as the employer is not passing along the costs of research to a third party.
