We are transitioning to a new way to log in to Law Library databases using your Law School Gmail address and password. Instead of seeing our former screen with a white background asking for your NetID and password, you will start seeing a screen with the Google logo. Input your @law.byu.edu email address and password to authenticate, not your NetID. If you are already logged into your law school gmail account you should not need to log in at all. Check which credentials the screen is asking for before trying to log in so you don’t put in the wrong ones. This new procedure applies to databases like HeinOnline, Wolters Kluwer Study Aids, Cheetah, The Washington Post, ProQuest Legislative Insight, and many of our historical legal databases.
Databases that are provided by the BYU Lee Library on main campus will still give you a blue login screen asking for your NetID/password and DUO authentication. This applies to databases like JSTOR, Factiva, Academic Search Ultimate and other EBSCO databases, and HeinOnline when accessed through the main campus library’s website.
This change does not affect databases for which you have an individual username and password like Quimbee, Lexis+, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law.
