Dick Harmon’s recent article in the Deseret News about the behind-the-scenes working of BYU’s recent move to football independence and its deal with ESPN revealed that some of the key players have BYU Law ties. Former law school dean Kevin Worthen was a critical part of the “BYU team” and is “described as one of the brightest minds at the university.” Also mentioned and quoted in the article is university council Steve Sandberg, an adjunct faculty member at the law school, who provided the bulk of the legal work in getting the deal done.
